4th warning, Off topic in my own thread?

I have been warned for standing up for myself.

I am prepared to be kicked off now. If I cannot do what is right then I don't want to be here.

As I have said before Admin is now using the warning function to intimidate. And I won't be intimidated.

If I was really doing something wrong I would acquiesce. But this is rediculous.

What happened, Nick,
I may not always agree with you, but I haven't seen anything that warrents a warning?

I suppose, Nick is OK... Just a too many duplicated topics - it makes the forum not providing an easy survey.

I'd recommend to decrease warning level over time for "good behavior"...

This is fallout from the Pupamancur-Nick fight on thetime dialation thread? Neither poster is writing at the collegiate level. I see sketches of appeals to common sense, ad hominem attacks and sketches of appeals to authority, with no solid physics argument on either side. While I am not privy to the contents of these "warnings" I have been extremely reluctant to file any negative feedback because I believe posts should be rated, not posters.

That being said, the following negative comments filed by 5 other posters, including one who rated you positive, seem to apply to the majority of Nick's last 60 posts.

So there is a body of thought that thinks Nick posts freely without regard to scientific evidence or principled stands on logic. This may be due to the brief notes written by Nick without any scientific evidence or logical exposition.

The quality of every one of these quotes would have been improved with both scientific evidence and a chain of logic. In many cases, it's not even possible to figure out which chain of reasoning and what evidence Nick would rely upon to come to believe these statements.

That being said, Pupamancur's posts are also of low quality, as judged by these creteria. Both have high warning levels, so in some sense they must share a quality.

Many thanks to rpenner for his appeal to integrity. This is a truly wonderful forum and if we do not seek to give of our best then we fail both ourselves and the forum as a whole.

It seems yes, beause the Popa has increased its warning level, too..

In fairness to Nick,

I believe his enthusiasm is genuine and his lack of understanding is genuine. He is not malicious and I do not believe anyone could claim to be seriously offended by anything he posts.

If you are looking for a problem on this forum .. I think you've got the wrong guy.

I have to agree with Confused2. Nick is a little over enthusiastic at times but all of his posts I have read seem to be OK. In any debate there can be strong disagreements. If we all agreed, the message board would be dry as dust.

DiamondJim. I have to disagree with you. I gave Nick negative feedback recently because of a post of his where he made an empty statement against global warming, as he has done against black holes and in support of (unproven) hyperspheres, etc. He was always a little shy on evidence to back up his beliefs.
