Hi i'm relatively new to this forum but i thought this might be a good place to ask this question.
My friend was arguing the other day with me about how Man never landed on the moon after watching a program on it.
I was wondering, is there any Telescopic images available that have been pointed at the moon and shown the actual debris from the apollo mission? footprints? flag? anyone know of any so i can prove him wrong?

It's not easy to prove with a telescope, I don't think there is one with enough resolution to pick up enough detail.
However the equipment left behind still provides valuable science see:

I for one find it hard to believe they did this in 1969, but the impetus was there to do the job, hang the danger and the expense!

Some people who believe that Man never landed on the moon, cannot be convinced by physical evidence, because "Americans could have sent robots to the moon to make foot prints and set up the flag." This is a ludicrous overstating of robot technology of the 1960's but evidence is no obstacle to faith.

Some people who doubt that Man ever landed on the moon need to explain away 1) eyewitness testimony, 2) Why Richard M. Nixon thought it was so important to get his name on the Apolo lander 3) The lack of discrediting information being spread by the 1969 Soviets 4) hundreds of pounds of moon rocks 5) why the alledged conspiracy of thousands of people lasts to this day, when the Soviets are no longer the greatest concern of the US government 6) how the moon dust and "Galileo experiment" were clearly in a vacuum when compared to the largest vacuum chambers of today.

Many people who claim to doubt also have a book or film they wish to sell. I googled for "moon landing hoax" and found the top ten hits were commercial links or non-commercial sites. None of the commerical "pro-hoax" sites had people with respectable credientials in the fields they were trying to assert knowledge in like human-radiation studies, geology, "rocket science" or photographic analysis.

The Hubble telescope's planetary imaging cameras have pixels which are about 10 times the linear dimension necessary to resolve the lander's base, let alone the flag. Near lunar "sunset" the shadow of the base might be long enough to show one dark pixel, but this would hardly be proof. The lunar buggy might have thrown up enough dark regeolith (lunar soil) to make Hubble-visible features but it would not be convincing to a unskilled observer.

Hey guys,
I've got a friend who likes to think that nothing happens as we are told from the Apollo landing to 9/11. It seems to me that the motive behind these things have more to do with to do with the idea of conspiracy than with the specific event, which makes it very difficult to prove to them.
Why is it so hard to believe that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon in 1969? We see space shuttles take off routinely, we can see satellites with a small telescope (even the ISS!). We know that the military is probably 20 years ahead of any commercial technology we see (they were working on the stealth in the early 70's and we thought it was amazing in the 90's), and we'll be going back in the next several years! Dare they keep up this ruse!
I've seen the program on the Apollo hoax and I'm not surprised that some could be convinced by the way the arguments are put out there, but , to me, it would be harder to deceive the world for this long than to just go there!
