As we understand, excited electrons occupy the outer electronic shells of the atom. But the same proves to be true for particles in the nucleus. They can be excited; and exist in Shells. So we have nuclei in excited states. I assume that changing these states is the way thermonuclear energy is released.
The orbits of the particles in the nucleus is of utmost importance. This is new science. Wherever there is an end there is a new beginning. |
