I suspect the only reason for the disappearance of the recent serial spammer was his account being suspended by his ISP, rather than any proactive measures by this forum's "admin".

It just takes about an hour a day to prevent crap like this and to remove fools. Why do you suppose this place is still here when no one minds the door?

That savvy comes from 15 years of being a network security/systems administrator. That's why it bothers me so badly to see this place completely unmanaged.

The steps are so simple I could even teach RoboBoobity to do the grunt work.

I have no idea if our practice of throwing monkey feces has any effect one way or another. If I had a better understanding of the dynamics of online marketing and IT, I’m sure I’d be using a more efficient anti-spam tactics in the absence of a moderator. I know the obvious solution would be to assign a moderator, but since that’s’ out of our hands, we can either live with it, fight it, or let the place rot on the vine.

As an operator of a similar website, and if so inclined, how would you go about being a more successful chimpanzee? Please Caesar, lead us to victory!

i dont understand why RP cannot just either promote someone else to moderator or at least give them his own admin rights....
