He posts at sciforums, and I've written a couple of emails, but have had no response.

I think this forum has been abandoned. Until a new moderator is appointed, this place is an open sewer of cranks and commercial spammers.

One could also look at RPenner's apparent departure as a great little case study for whether or not social systems are/can be self-organizing.

FWIW, by the way, I nominate you as 1 (of several) future moderator/s.

Do the homework. Make the invitation.

The forum has only been "abandoned" if you/we allow it to be.
