Since no one wants to discuss atheism, I’ve decided to start posting pseudoscience topics in here, as well.
Check out this new movement that’s growing. I believe that Christian high school kids started it, but it reeks of pseudoscience, free energy, UFOs, etc. It shows the link between the cover-up of ET’s and the Illuminati. The advertising is huge. Big bucks and big names. That wacko David Icke and Deepak Chopra are in it. “On November 11, 2011 THRIVE will be released worldwide on the Internet and have its debut screening at the beautiful Craneway Pavilion on the San Francisco Bay.” It’s sold out. “THRIVE is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what's REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream -- uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future.” Thrive Movement WEIRD! A physicist (Adam Trombly) interviewed in the trailer doesn't get a page in Wiki.
Should he be there? Is he a fictional character? Does it matter? Should I care? -C2. -------------------- Toothpaste salesman

I don’t know if you should care. It's just weird, that's all. And that guy Nassim Haramein is in there. He’s a strange one. They are going to post more information on October 10, 2011.
Do you want to hear something else weird? That group the Anonymous threatened to erase the New York Stock Exchange, also on October 10, 2011. I can’t tell if it’s fake or not, but it's a little creepy. I think that people are taking it seriously. The Anonymous Message This post has been edited by NymphaeaAlba on Oct 4 2011, 11:50 PM |

Anonymous is very good at taking down individual websites, but the NYSE is a tough nut to crack. -------------------- "The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!' but 'That's funny...' "

IMHO making money by exploiting signal delays ranks up there with Ponzi schemes. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-12827752 Crash it! -C2. -------------------- Toothpaste salesman

Interesting!
“Recent advances in high-frequency financial trading have made light propagation delays between geographically separated exchanges relevant. Here we show that there exist optimal locations from which to coordinate the statistical arbitrage of pairs of spacelike separated securities, and calculate a representative map of such locations on Earth. Furthermore, trading local securities along chains of such intermediate locations results in a novel econophysical effect, in which the relativistic propagation of tradable information is effectively slowed or stopped by arbitrage.” “Dr Wissner-Gross, of Harvard University, said that the latencies - essentially, the time delay for a signal to wing its way from one global financial centre to another - advantaged some locations for some trades and different locations for others.” Does anyone happen to know who that Foster Gamble guy is in that thrive video? Someone else said that he was an heir and descendant of James Gamble of Procter and Gamble. This post has been edited by NymphaeaAlba on Oct 5 2011, 06:44 PM |

Is it OK if I call you NA? Would you still like to discuss atheism? |

Sure, you can call me NA but I’m not calling you “Goddess”. Is this going to be about your internal conflict? |

The poem that you referred to focuses on the conflict within a single man. How telling…
Why is anybody not an atheist? I deny the existence of God because the idea of such is irrelevant. Anyone can create a God and do so all the time. Everyone’s idea is different. Yes, you are wrong. I oppose the entire conjecture. Ah, the lonesome world is always an easy target for new fairytales. Good luck with that… Nite...ZZzzz |

[QUOTE]Ah NA, considering the content of you response I'm forced to disagree. Your problem is with the "fairytales" of religion. Just using the word "God" influences your thought processes with the corruption of religion. Please take another look at "An Uncorrupted View of Creation" and try not to think of this creature in terms that have anything to do with human religion. The strength of your emotions against "fairytales" may make this difficult for you, but think in your own scietific terms and remember you're not going to be influenced by the bullshit of religion. Something you may want to consider in the future: if you think our world is lonesome, imagine a world where you and time are the only things that exist. There's more, but we'll get to that later. |
