Non-violent offenders in Bay Minette, Alabama will have the choice to go to jail or church. Do you think this bible-thumping judge will provide atheists any jail options?

Alabama judge says "jail or church?"

Just my usual video rant. smile.gif

Cheers!

"AA or Jail" isn't too much different.

According to the report, this program does not violate separation of church and state issues because it allows the offender to choose church or jail with a church of their choosing.

I wonder how the program defines a church? Would a non-theistic or occult church qualify? If not, would it be a valid case of discrimination? I think I smell a lawsuit.

If I were that guy, I'd choose the Church of Satan, just to piss off the judge.

Or the JW, and knock on the judge's door every morning with the Watchtower in hand smile.gif

What a dastardly sneaky foray into the political system.

Funny!

Hey Hertz (my little detractor), wink.gif

Since everyone else ignores us, do you want to have a future discussion on morality? I’m watching those lectures from Harvard on justice. So far, I’ve only had time for a few, housework, and all. sad.gif He’s just getting to libertarinianism, now. Do you have time to keep up and watch them? It’s interesting.

Oh, and I watched another documentary on the mind body problem. It was good.

I don't feel ignored in a bad way, just as in an 'eyes rolling/shake head' way, which is justified enough biggrin.gif - as it's only in physics threads. As can be seen, I'm not ignored if I have something relevant to say cool.gif

Morality...

It's been beaten to death here. I'd rather talk about how you go into a room and know how to tune it properly so the audience doesn't have to sit through another acoustically lamentable and pricey performance. But no one cares about that - it's a very tiny field - and I've never discussed it.

Mind/body is spicy, and more accessible. Not a lot of time though; ie I'm late now, and the skies are all green and scary. Another wondrous drive. 4Ciao.

I think you should since we all love music and actually have that in common. You could just pick 'a part of it' to initially explain then tell a groovy story from experience. Or not depending on how you feel about it. I've heard a bit and it's pretty cool.

(Normality is based on the consensus's of the people), and the piont was made that he should join the church of satan,,,(i had to laugh) but what if the judge was a lucifarian ....
and his lucifarian friends ruled that church,,,,then its a win,,,win,,,for him,,,it looks like he is doing a kind act, but really is he.

The first thing Jesus did when entering the city of the jews,,,was cast out the Lucifarians that were hiding within the CHURCH. just remember that. ph34r.gif

You might be right. I'm pretty sure Lucifer has an e, not an a.

Sinister Utopia: sorry. You aren't an I Love Lucy fan, are you?
