I am looking at the radiation from the cement reactor containment structure under Reactors 5 & 6 in Fukushima, and it seems to be out of control high.

It looks to me that they had core melt downs too.

The Japanese government webpage here (select ENGLISH at top):

://atmc.jp/plant/rad/

It shows 40 and 30 Sieverts/hour in units 5 and 6, inside the dry wells. This is higher than the levels in units 1 through 4. It appears there is a terrible problem with reactors 5 and 6.

The Japanese have been posting data for the reactors. It almost seems to me that they are hiding additional meltdowns in plain sight.

I know how reactor plants work. For these tremendously high radiation readings at Reactors Five and Six, there has to be something seriously wrong yet, I do not see the news media asking questions of TEPCO. Is everybody oblivious to this reality?

There is nothing wrong with units 5&6.

They were shut down for routine maintenance before the earthquake, both reactors achieved cold shutdown on 20 March. The reactors are now in a safe mode, with cooling systems stable and under control, and with low temperature and pressure within the reactor.

Well, that is what the Japanese are saying officially, but it does not explain the tremendous release of radiation in the drywell of both reactors. I can think of nothing that would cause that if the reactor was actually in cold shutdown.

Well that's ALSO what the IAEA is saying.

If you want to provide a reliable SOURCE that shows that the level of radiation in the DryWell of these reactors, filled with a complete fuel load, is in someway abnormal, please do so.

There are no other radiation reading like that from any other dry wells in the world. That is all you need to know to understand that something most unusual has taken place.

Some other source besides your ASSERTION that these values mean anything bad is needed.

From the TEPCO data on April 17th

Reactor 1
Dry Well: 121.4 Sv/hr
Suppression chamber: 97.5 Sv/hr

Reactor 2
Dry Well: N/A
Suppression Chamber: 131 Sv/hr

Reactor 3
Dry Well: 253.2 Sv/hr
Suppression Chamber: 103.9 Sv/hr

So actually, the readings in Reactors 5 & 6 are far below the reactors with problems.
