Is there a need for liquid metal currents at all to generate Earth magnetic field? Can it not be generated by a trapped EM field, whose E component is screened by outer layers of the Earth? This trapped high energy EM field could be a dynamic remnant of some event, like nuclear birth of the moon from Earth, as some scientists propose. There could be a hole approx of a size of a Moon inside the Earth with high EM intensity, but no minerals.

Could a trapped EM field have mass from having energy big enough to account for Earth gravity? The energy of such trapped field that would sit in the Earth inner core and have approximately Moons mass would be approx 6,61*10^39 J.

For example, there could be a ball lightning with solid charged core inside the Earth. The inner core would be the solid core, the outer core-trapped EM radiation.

QUOTE
Abstract. In this study, ball lightning (BL) is assumed to have a solid, positively-charged core. According to this underlying
assumption, the core is surrounded by a thin electron layer with a charge nearly equal in magnitude to that of the core. A vacuum exists between the core and the electron layer containing an intense electromagnetic (EM) field which is reflected and guided by the electron layer. The microwave EM field applies a ponderomotive force (radiation pressure) to the electrons preventing them from falling into
the core. The energetic electrons ionize the air next to the electron layer forming a neutral plasma layer. The electricfield
distributions and their associated frequencies in the ball are determined by applying boundary conditions to a differential
equation given by Stratton (1941). It is then shown that the electron and plasma layers are sufficiently thick and
dense to completely trap and guide the EM field. This model of BL is exceptional in that it can explain all or nearly all
of the peculiar characteristics of BL.

The ES energy associated with the core charge can be extremely large which can explain the observations that occasionally BL contains enormous energy. The mass of the core prevents the BL from rising like a helium-filled balloon – a problem with most plasma and burning-gas models. The positively charged core keeps the negatively charged electron layer from diffusing away, i.e. it holds the ball together; other models do not have a mechanism to do this. The high electrical charges on the core and in the electron layer explains why some people have been electrocuted by BL. Experiments indicate that BL radiates microwaves upon exploding and this is consistent with the model. The fact that this novel model of BL can explain these and other observations is strong evidence that the
model should be taken seriously.

If EM field were trapped inside the Earth, in the outer core , between inner solid core and dielectric external layer. they modes inside would be so called WGM (Whispering-Gallery-Modes) that would explain why they concentrate in equatorial region and why the Earth acts as almost Magnetic dipole. Also, the patterns of EM modes inside outer core would look similar to convection cells.

More so, such EM cavity modes can be coupled via evanescent waves to external EM trapped in atmosphere, provided wave lengths are long enough, > than Earth diameter. This corresponds well to Schumann resonances, whose 7 Hz mode is 42 000 km long wave. It could be that most of evanescent coupling of external and internal (freely moving inside outer core) EM fields happen via African lightning maximum place. It seems logical, at least, that such coupling place would also lead to increase in lightning number.

Does this mean that the moon is no longer connected to the Earth? I figured they were still connected and they only appear as separate spheres because of the way light bends and causes some continents to appear connected in one ball and others in another.

Should I give up my search for a land route to the moon then? blink.gif

hi Ivars!!! You know I was raised by hippy-types so bear with me,please, but huge crystals may have some superconductivity...somehow, am I right or No?...I have no idea really...but i think what shows near surface, may be near the center as well.
