I was sent this today. It's the old pick a card and he'll guess it. "He" guessed it, and I admit I don't know how, because I didn't actually pick it, the cursor did. I did pick the card, then ignored it and did the following: What I did was close my eyes, ran the cursor back and forth over the cards many times, then stopped the cursor and opened my eyes (never clicking it). But that's not all: I decided to do it six times and chose the card the cursor was on the sixth time. It didn't land on every card; it landed on some twice, but the fact is that I didn't choose it, the cursor did. The trick doesn't even ask you to put the cursor on the card, just choose the card.
Now, I have done sound for the chairman of the world's magician's union, or whatever they call themselves. He did several David Blaine tricks for me, and knows both Blaine and Angel (he told me that he sold a trick to Angel that he still hasn't been paid for yet). He explained to me the basic mass psychology behind how people pick cards, numbers, etc. So for this trick, I let randomness pick the card. It was guessed correctly. For the programming-savvy, I'd like to know if the sleight-of hand can be turned into sleight-of-computer! - because the cursor chose the cards, and not even I had any idea what the sixth choice would be. http://www.urlesque.com/2009/03/11/davi ... han-magic/ -------------------- "Time's grey hand won't catch me while the stars shine down;

Amazingly - ALL the cards are gone. None of the 5 left were in the original 6.
Why doesn't that surprise me? This post has been edited by Goofus A Gallant on Nov 16 2009, 07:04 PM -------------------- "I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused." - Elvis Costello

The link didn't work for me but I suspected that was the trick. I"ve seen it earlier. Write down the first set of cards. Then compare. It's the second best "mind reading" web trick I"ve seen. I wish I had a link to the best one but it was a lot of years ago. -------------------- If you want to keep believing in the Wizard, never look behind the curtain. You will be disappointed.

Well, sh!t, is that all it was? Bully on me; I've seen that type of trick before and not been duped. Maybe if I had tried it after coffee I'd have noticed..maybe. Anyway I will make good by giving a link to the best 'illusion' online that I have ever seen: http://www.moillusions.com/2006/03/eclipse...s-illusion.html There are several links to it, but this takes you right there. But go to http://www.skytopia.com/project/illusion/illusion.html if you want to see this one and a whole pile of other good ones. Lots of fun. -------------------- "Time's grey hand won't catch me while the stars shine down;
