The answer must be somethig relative to the continuity of generations.

The mother giving birth to her son contributes to keep the continuation of the humanity??

Is that?

QUOTE ("THEY")
I have no guesses on the humanity one.... I pass!

I know it's too hard; I will give up the answer since few people have an interest in it, and it's hard. But first, I want to tell you why it wasn't Mother : child :: God : humanity.

Mother does create the child, but needs father's help to do so. God doesn't need anyone to do anything. God is independent. Let's assume that there is something that mother can do, without having father's help.

This is also for humanity, there must be something that one thing can influence humanity, as mother can influence what ever. It can't be raising the child, because then the mother would also raise humanity, and that's not right. Thus, mother must have some influence on something, that something can influence humanity in the same way. Now we have gone through everything that can help us on the mother's side, we need to look at humanity. What influences humanity? God (religion), Society, Money, Government. Let's start out with these before we look for more. We know it's not God, and no other religion. Society, what in hell does mother do that society does? That genre is held by the household. Money influences humanity in the form of greed, mommas don't do any such thing, at least the sane ones. Government, government dictates what you can and can't do in their country, this goes for the parents, namely the mother. And you can look at the government/humanity system like you can mother/child. When people are bad, they go to jail, when children are bad, they go to their rooms, or some other sort of punishment, based on the culture.

Indeed, the analogy answer is:

Mother : Child :: Government : Humanity

Now someone else has to come up with an analogy, because all mine suck. biggrin.gif

I won’t be posting very much for a while, have work to do. And if you refer to the work as school work, I will lose all respect for you. I know you will find it easy to live without my crappy since of hummer, my crazy ideas, and my tendency to get into fights.

I am sure he will be back but just not as often as before. He was really good at keeping my daughters thread going too. He will be missed. Would you like me to attempt to come up with another analogy? We can keep this going too!

I hadn't realized I would be missed. People gave me the impression they didn't like me. I guess it wouldn't hurt me too badly if I post here every once in a while, at least every other day. I am trying to write a fiction book. Well, not trying, I seem (seam, laugh.gif ) to be very good at it, so far. We'll see.

I won't be able to post in your thread "THEY", say hi to the kid for me. I know people will be in extreme debt (doubt, laugh.gif ) to her when she develops interstellar travel, and prevents us all from burning into a crisp in the 5 billion years or so when the sun forecloses its loan, and demands earth back. I know this because she is interested in space, and she's a genius. What else to I need to know? biggrin.gif

Sam, I have a crippling conscience, so I can't just leave like that. I will post here every now and then.

I will let "THEY" do the honors with the big analogy, but will give a small one to "ease" the pain of impatience. You all need to know, analogies are easy to make as long as you are creative, I don't really know what it takes to solve them.

Here goes something:

The Earth : Sun :: ?? : cat

Have fun and stay out of trouble. biggrin.gif

O.o what genre of fiction is it?

The Earth:Sun ??:Cat
The Earth:Sun World:Cat

The Earth revolves around the Sun.
The World revolves around a Cat?

I didn't log off. blink.gif I was in a hurry.

QUOTE (Samantha K)

mouse??

You have it backwards, the cat is the big one. On the other hand, I don't know your reasoning. Just remember that the sun is the big one in this analogy--the relationship.

QUOTE (Draugluin)
O.o what genre of fiction is it?

I have no idea; it doesn't seem to fit one. It's about a drunk guy. Actually, it's about this guy whose father was a mean alcoholic, and he is doomed to travel the same road as his father. That's long story short.

QUOTE (same)
The Earth:Sun World:Cat

No.

I only made this analogy to keep you guys busy until "THEY" came up with one, so I will give you a big hint. At least I think it's a big hint.

What was the relationship in my previous analogy?
If this doesn't help you I'll come up with a better hint.

The Earth : Sun :: GOVERNMENT : cat? Nah! tongue.gif Although I was thinking on the same lines as Samantha. I had also thought of mouse, but didn't post it. Small large small large... So what governs in earth/sun? Hmmm heat, energy = life but the cat doesn't provide heat energy nor life. Unless it is the warmth in your lap? dry.gif I am totally clueless.... Earth orbits the sun, but what "orbits' a cat? grr. Got me again!

Joshua, go check out yquantum c as a constant, they 2 posted a TOE of her own for fun. I had her post in his thread so he would see it when he comes back again (per his instructions). A little glimpse into her personality! Also, if you ever need someone to proof read your book, well, They 2 and I are both really good at catching typos, hint hint! Good luck, I have always wanted to write a book, but I don't have enough free time. My sister has done it and actually had the book published, she says it is very enjoyable to write. But its not the career for a mother... So be glad you have the time and flexibility in your life to do this! Good luck again!

I'm the one who had it backwards! Sorry Sam, my brain's on stirke.

It's not small large, because birds are small, and cats eat birds. And besides, I am much too creative to come up with something that pothetic. It has nothing to do with "orbiting", whether literal or hypotheticle.

I really thought this analogy would be easy. But since it isn't (obviously), I will give you a real hint. Again, sorry Sam. unsure.gif

The relationship between the earth and the sun is not big/small, but superior/inferior, or dominent/not dominent, what ever the hell that is. But it's more in the direction of my previous analogy, and it's not government. You would have been closer if you guessed the other blank to the analogy. The sun has contral over the earth, but must be respocible, and take care of it.

That's all the hints you're getting out of me for a while.

She sure did. You are not going to to get very many collages excited about her if she stays that way. I don't know. I didn't even have since of humor when I was her age. I didn't even know how to write in cursive. Hell, I didn't even know how to write! Most of everything I have learned thus far, I learned in the past three years. (I did know how to read when I was here age).

QUOTE (same)

I don't know if that's really a good idea. Actually, you can let her read what ever she wants for all I care (she's not my kid), but it ain't exactly Harry Potter. Actually, it's far from it!

QUOTE (same)
So be glad you have the time and flexibility in your life to do this! Good luck again!

But I don't. I can only write three pages a day or so, and I have to make room.

Earth : Sun :: ?? : cat

what DEFINES the relationship between earth and sun? not size, nor temperature, though very different. more relevant: radiation (earth:sun::ears:cat). i often drape cats over my noggin to keep warm.

or maybe not. what about attraction ... gravitational, strictly speaking, but let's be more open minded. earth:sun::fea:cat, as smoix has it. and behold: a cat is also WARMER and BIGGER, so this is a home run.

anyway, what comes next:
