Boy,
You make Satan look like an angel.

There, figure out the profound analogy.

Cuz (Because [you will find that 'caus is slang]) it's profound, and requires no guessing.

Oh... and the answer, not my opinion, is that Science is to answer how, as Philosophy is to answer why.

Why cannot be ultimately answered. Though on the path of answering your "whys" you discover more questions instead of answers. These questions will simply lead you to better understand the why.

I'm certainly not a scientist. Defintely not a wannabe scientist.

I fit in the spectrum of finding forum garbage and exploiting it. It's my pleasure.

All of the sentences underlined are fragments. I know it is hard for you to keep up with the more intelligent. Do you need to lie down on something? Maybe you should go back to school, were you will practice saying the alphabet, and all those other things you have trouble doing.

As for the analogy, I think it's about time I give you the answer.

Car is to gas as cheetah is to food (prey).

Car is to engine as cheetah is to muscle (strength).

Car shaft is to drive shaft (assuming it's back wheel drive) as cheetah is to tendons.

Which leaves us with foot.

Though the brain of the human, and that of the cheetah, are the ones deciding when and where they stop or go, the foot of the human applies the tranfer from thought to action. In the cheetah, this is through the pawls.

Car : Foot :: Cheetah : Pawls

Actually, I think "THEY" got it right with "dresser pulls" and house.

I'm not going to give you guys an analogy, for the time being. Instead, try out this logic problem:

Imagine you have two balls of different size--one is half the size of the other. If you roll them down an angled path, which one reaches the ground first? Provided you understand that the smaller object is pulled just as fast as the larger, however, the larger one is bigger around.

The more you think about this one, the harder it becomes.

1) One more thing, the lack of specifics put thoughts in people's heads.

2) Gave me something interesting to read.

3) People in Missouri are Missourians, people in Texas are Texans, people in Washington are... Washingtonians? blink.gif

1) That was the point, that it is so easy to get the wrong impression (even though I was bluntly giving a wrong impression)

2) I hope you laughed, that was the point too

3) Correct!

I see,
You have the forum tangled in a web, and you hold the end of the strings. If that didn't make any sense to you, you aren't alone, it didn't to me either. blink.gif

I don't remember. blink.gif I don't even remember what I ate for breakfast this morning...wait, oh yeah.

I am going to say the small one. If they were droped through a vacuum, they hit at the same time. But because they are rolling down a plane, it takes the same amount of force/gravity longer to accelerate a lager mass from zero momentum to speed. Therefore the smaller one will get going faster?????

I haven't the slightest damn idea. I've been trying to solve the problem for weeks. You see, the larger one has more surface, so it will take longer to roll 360° than the smaller one. However, the smaller one has less surface to cover ground. The two traveling at the same speed seams like the logical answer, but normally I just get confused.

Okay you smarties:

What's faster than the speed of light? biggrin.gif

Your 'intelligence' seems to allow for words to be spelled incorrectly?

'were' is really 'where'
'desparately' is actually 'desperately'
etc.....and so on.......

Just 'kickin' [slang??] on the fo'real! BTW - 'cuz' is the standard use of 'because' using [slang?] Got to roll on the streets, yo! Check it!

Gravity. If you look at the angle of force versus the angle of light reaching the Earth from the sun, the is no shift (of whatever arc seconds 7min's at 93 million miles gives) in the force of gravity from the sun.

laugh.gif I asked: what is faster than the speed of light? (186,000 mps) laugh.gif

laugh.gif The ANSWER: 187,000 mps, 200,000 mps, or 1,000,000,000 mps laugh.gif

I didn't ask what travels faster than the speed of light! laugh.gif ! laugh.gif ! laugh.gif

On to a new analogy:

Apple : Tree :: ?? : car
