The apes have many similar features as humans, but are likely to think differently in how they apply their physical features toward emulating what they see a human demonstrator convey to them through this primitive show and tell scenario. Give them [the apes] an opposable thumb and the neuro circuitry to go with the demonstration and perhaps you’ll achieve an anthropomorphic like response from the primates more in line with your expectations. Apples and oranges may be fruit, but so are tomatoes yet they are treated differently on the dinner table. |
