I live in Australia where the mains voltage is 240V, but most cheap lasers
are from the US and run off 110V. I was wondering if it is relatively simple to modify a cyonics argon laser supply to run at the higher voltage. I don't know what the model no. of the power supply is, but it is a Cyonics Uniphase supply and the tube it powers is a Cyonics Uniphase 2201-40MLA. The reason I want to do this if its not too difficult is because a 240-110v transformer with the required power rating is about $200. I have looked in Sam's FAQ but can't find anything about changing the voltage... Thanks for any help! -Daniel |

200 buck is probably less then it would cost you to modify the power
supply.. |
