This suonds like something Massachusetts would do. Legislate based on Fed stats instead of Real World Experiences. Those hybrids won"t get any better MPG than dozens of other compact cars at normal hwy speeds. Is it any wonder that Toyota is giving substantial rebates on the Prius? The public has found these hybrids aren"t getting the hwy MPG advertised. My Cad CTS returns 27 hwy @75 mph. Hell, My father-in-law"s FWD V8 Northstar Cad got 28 mpg @ 65 mph on a trip to FL a few years ago. You wind the piss out of your avg 4 banger compact and you aint gonna do much better. Give up a roomy, qiet, comfortable ride for a few extra, if that, MPG? I dont think so Skippy! The frikin mind set is as bogus as the rating system. |
