Try sending ap-bot a message. ap-bot is a known moderator, though I don't know if that account accepts messages.

Hey Kaneda,

Were you wanting to congratulate the moderator for shutting down Paulo Riven?

NOM. Just got on the board. Glad to see that Paulo Riven has finally gone. He had no interest in science or any other subject on this board but merely spammed nonsense about Atlantis with total disregard to others.

Congratulations moderator!

I got a warning for being "off topic". On a board where we have an off topic section, we have numerous threads started on Atlantis, a thread on jokes, where christianity without being to do with creationism is argued with exaltations to god, etc, what is off topic?

I used My Assistant to do a search for the S*** word and came up with it in 41 threads still on the board. The F*** word only appeared in 11 threads, still on the board.

How about giving people a clue as to why they were warned and showing that it is not because a number came out of a hat?

Warning for being "Off Topic"? some people on this board never get "on topic".

The moderator has been rather active lately. Not a complaint though. Several active threads have been completely removed, even from personal histories. I have a feeling that certain members have been rather active on their report buttons lately. Curiously though, no extra warnings have been assigned.
Except Paulo of course laugh.gif I think what did it for him wasn't his spamming, it was spamming in quadriplicate.

Just a thought, there are some threads that ap-bot has warned in their setup that getting off topic will be punished. The 911 thread is one of these.

You are right though about it being unfair to be warned with no actual warning. How can you "correct" a behaviour you aren't aware is "wrong"?

NOM. I tried the link and then all posts by Cyborg1 and it came up with an error message. I think Riven has been kicked off the board again. Only posting on one subject he can hardly be missed if he turns up yet again. dry.gif

Another day gone by and still no answer from ap-bot as to why I was "off topic" (for which we have a whole board here) and so got a warning. Not easy to justify randomly given warnings by the looks of it.

Don't bother trying to contact the moderators over anything other than what ordinary members here can answer. They do not answer questions and do not justify what they do.

It is a free service Kaneda. They are entitled to make, change or break the rules as they see fit. Think of it as a challenge.

I know but that doesn't mean we have to like it when the cards are deliberately stacked against us sometimes. A certain very arrogant person here in every 1-2 posts calls people stupid, ignorant, idiots and generally demeans them and has not had a single warning.

I don't know why there is a Comments/Suggestions board here. It seems to be a waste of time.

I agree with you completely here Kaneda. If they are going to have a Comments/Suggestions section, there should be an active admin to answer the occasional question, help elaborate on a suggestion or even shoot down an unworkable suggestion. Otherwise, we as a community could use this section to design the perfect forum system and then produce it and entice the membership there. The members of a forum are what keeps it going, after all, not the admin or moderators.

I hope you aren't describing me here laugh.gif though I suspect you are meaning AlphaNumeric unsure.gif I'm trying to stay out of that argument.
