This just says that the oxygen level and nutrient levels increased. You started out with the problem of a gap in records between simple and complex fossils, and you still have that same gap, right? Is this meant to be a variation on spontaneous evolutionary theory?

Even with a sudden increase of oxygen it still doesn't explain how there doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground between single celled organisms and the first large complex organisms.
Even with a sudden increase of oxygen it would still take more time then was given for the sudden evolutionary jump. |

"Even with a sudden increase of oxygen it still doesn't explain how there doesn't seem to be much of a middle ground between single celled organisms and the first large complex organisms." Quoted from Doesn't explain much at all. Obviously they didn't take college biology or microbiology or didn't remember much. There is a continuum from unicellular to multicellular that exists even today. I remember looking with awe at a volvox colony as the small, round aggregate of attached single-wall cells swam about under the microscope. From there life segued into sac gut organisms that eat and excrete through the same orifice. Then came larger double wall organisms with a tube gut and the march of evolution continued on. The more one learns and comprehends, the more the majesty and beauty of science is revealed. There is no more "Darwin's Dilemma." It has been filled in and thoroughly answered in the intervening time since 1859. The marvels of evolution and the eloquence of Darwin's perception of it stand among the greatest concepts mankind's collective knowledge has acquired. -------------------- Darwin was a keen observer and theorist and his theory is PROVEN beyond a shadow of a doubt. The only reason it is still called a theory is because it can't be proven in the same way a mathematical theorem can. That is a problem with semantics, NOT the science!

actually this is not Darwin's dilemma. it proves that all evolution crap is wrong all the way.. from single celled evolution to dinosaurs?? a big jump..
must be 02 and nutrients huh?you cant think of another reason..lol.. |

Hello, PhysOrg Readers-Thinkers, Everybody, Mind, and Spirit!
All well said, more discussions here, Geologists prove the Origin of Life Species on Earth! (PhysOrgEU; December 8). Thank you all for your kind attention and cooperation in this matter. Happy reading, thinking, scrutinizing, and enlightening! Best wishes, Mong 12/11/6usct1:53p; author Gods, Genes, Conscience and Gods, Genes, Conscience: Global Dialogues Now; a cyberspace hermit-philosopher of Modern Mind, whose works are based on the current advances in interdisciplinary science and integrative psychology of Science and Religion worldwide; ethically, morally; metacognitively, and objectively. -------------------- 1) “Gods, Genes, Conscience: Global Dialogues Now” a simple blog "Wishing all of us, living in harmony, creatively and constructively, in this beautiful World of Today and beyond—we Each are primed by our shared DNA and associated Molecules, having only one Life to live; one Heart to beat and love; one Mind to cherish responsibly worldwide. Thank you."

The rise oxygen levels did not just mean that oxygen respirative organisms had more to use for breathing. It allowed organisms that were restricted prior to make use of extra amounts of O2. This is important since the scaffold of multicellular organisms is collgen. It is this compound that allowed cells to unite and then diversify to perform specific tasks. Without the increased oxygen this would not have been possible simply because it was not metabolicly feasible when the available O2 was being used for other activities and cellular construction. When the levels rose they were able to gain this element without the need for costly extraction processes carried out by the cells machinery.
That is just one compound that was made available, but this was not the end of the story. Since newer types of proteins and enzymes were also being devised to adapt to the changes that were taking place. Such as with increased O2 meant a decrease in the amount of UV radiation that was able to reach the planetary surface. It is a well establish fact that this form of radiation can cause mutations and even cell death, limiting the survivability of a cell outside of specific enviroments. One other consideration is that various organisms existed prior to this change and suddenly having a large upswing in atomspheric Oxygen introduced environmental stresses to those that were not accustom to it's presence. Those that were not able to get a foothold due to it's restricted availablity suddenly were thriving. Those that were dominant were forced to adapt or risk extinction. Nothing seems to drive diversity more than the threat of annhilation. Nature has a unique way of recovering from mass extincts not only well but with usually more complex and adaptive measures. During this time of change, various forms of new species were born, ones that could not only be comfortable but were able to invoke methods that their predessor were unable to perform on their own. Mass extinctions of the past did little to stop the potential of life. Had nature been so easily thwarted by such and occurrence, I doubt that I would be typing this now. But life persveres and it is not to be sold short, we have been proven wrong time and time again when we put a limitation on where and how it can exist. Of course this is my viewpoint so take from it what you wish. = Gaven = - If life was created by the hand of God, he would know and understand that creating was not the end of the endeavor. Providing life with the tools necessary to continue and advance was the next logical step. - |
